If you'd like to be more involved in doing good for other women, here's your chance. Join a committee and help organize events, encourage membership or plan for an even better organization with strong ties to the community.
Become a Fairy Godmother
If you are interested in becoming a Fairy Godmother, download and submit our membership form. Submit the membership form and a minimum donation of $100, and you're officially a Fairy Godmother!
Join a committee
If you're interested, contact us for an opportunity to work on one of our committees:
- Communications
- Acts as a liaison to the Greater Manhattan Community Foundation, provides publicity as needed, prepares communication to members and maintains the website.
- Connections
- Identifies and cultivates news members, encourages renewals and meets with organizations and vendors in the community to advertise our being part of the community.
- Events
- Plans and executes fundraising events.
- Finance
- Formulates the annual budget, monitors incoming monies, such as contributions and outgoing monies for grants, and reconciles the books with those of the Greater Manhattan Community Foundation.
- Grants
- Develops the grant application and liases with Shepherd's Crossing, who screens the applications for the Fairy Godmothers.
- HUG Grant
- Reviews the initial screening via the Agency Form and the Hand Up Grant Financial Needs form, schedules and conducts interviews and determines appropriate grant awards.
Participate in an event
Fairy Godmothers events, such as the annual golf tournament or the Lingerie Luncheon, offer you opportunities to give back in a way that benefits local women in need.
