    • Vehicle Repair

A single mother has a 15 year old car which is badly in need of repairs. This car is crucial for her to get to her housekeeping job at a local motel.  She doesn’t have any money in reserves to help with this need. A grant from Fairy Godmothers made it possible to have the necessary repairs done to her car.

    • Vehicle Repair

When a hard working young lady first met with her caseworker she and her husband were working full time. However, during the last three months she has experienced some hard luck. The company she was working for did not renew her contract, her husband was fired and their car was very much in need of repairs.  The car is vital to her and her husband looking for new employment.  Finding new jobs has been a slow process. She is also 7 months pregnant. A Fairy Godmother grant assisted with the repair of the car.

    • Health Treatments

A lady who is the primary caregiver for her disabled husband is also a survivor of breast and liver cancer as well as years of child abuse. She regularly sees a physician at the Flint Hills Community Clinic who highly recommended that she would benefit greatly from mental health treatment.  She has no insurance to pay for mental health services.  Fairy Godmothers fund was able to issue a grant for a long-term weekly treatment plan at Pawnee Mental Health.

    • New Beds

A mother of two receives a Section-8 voucher that pays her rent. But she recently lost her job when a local supermarket closed and has yet to find gainful employment. With suitable housing now secured for her family she is very much in need of comfortable sleeping arrangements. Approval of an application to Fairy Godmothers for beds provided them with this need.

    • Vehicle Tags

Fairy Godmothers were able to assist a young college student with cystic fibrosis. With this condition she is unable to work as much as needed to keep up with expenses and paying off medical bills. She is able to do some work as a nanny. She also has a CNA certificate and can do that work part-time. Her car tags are due and she doesn't have the money to take care of this cost.  One of our grants was approved to help pay for her car tags.
